In the introduction to the movie Hush, the director provides the audience with immediate horror scenes. A lot of viewers wouldn’t call this movie a horror because rather than it being extremely scary to watch, you might enjoy the movie if you were watching an action movie. However, there’s parts in the movie that makes you cover/close your eyes which then you realize it’s a horror movie. For instance, there’s parts where the female actress is walking then suddenly there’s a change in the tone of the music which we all know something hectic is about to happen. In addition, to that the director portrays darkness throughout the whole movie which darkness symbolize the opposite of good. Once again some might say darkness doesn’t always mean something bad is happening, but when its dark and someone throughout the movie continues to get savagely murdered when its dark that makes you anticipate that something terrible will happen. Overall, it’s easy to classify this movie as a horror because for one, there fear of dying involved, for two its dark, which people are not scared of the dark because its dark but because what the dark hides itself, lastly because there are suspenseful scenes throughout the movie.

Spending weekends with your friends and getting no phone call from your parents to come home is every student’s dream. But this illusion gets shattered as soon as students start college. The phrase “College will be fun” seem like empty words as soon as college life actually begins. Everyone has this perception that in college you don’t have to study that much and since you have to take as many classes as you want to you will probably have fun. On the contrary though, the syllabus in every single class is so much that high school seems like a walk in the park. “Partying with friends” Is problematic because for you to party you firstly need to make friends. Which sounds a lot harder than it is. The huge campus, freedom and few classes seem like a dream come true at the beginning. But that is just at the start. Homesickness, Living alone and settling in are all the problems students face in college. And even though college should be an amazing time, don’t expect to get settled in really quickly. There are a lot of hardships people face in college and that is what will be discussed in this essay further on. –Taimur Iftikhar
